The information provided below relates to the AD4 and the Evolution Comp exercise bike models.
Moving Airdyne Evolution Bike
In order to move the Schwinn Airdyne bike properly, you must carefully lift up the back part of the equipment and position it to another area. Move the unit gently as any sudden impact on the computer might affect the operation of the bike.
Installing New Batteries for the Computer
Your Airdyne Comp computer has fresh batteries the first time you use it. You will know the battery is worn out if it has fading LCD screen display, makes erratic actions, or fails to turn on when the power button is pushed. Installing new sets of AA batteries is easy – just open the battery compartment at the rear part of the computer.
Adjusting Drive belt or Chain Tension
The drive belt and drive belt tension on the bike has been already adjusted during production. This does not require serious attention. If adjustments have to be made at any time during use, it must be done by an authorized dealer.
Alignment of Fan wheel
The fan wheel alignment on the Airdyne bike is factory adjusted as well. It also requires no immediate attention. Any further adjustment must be done by an authorized Schwinn representative.
Leveling Airdyne Comp Bike
Airdyne Evolution Bike may be leveled in order to compensate for any uneven surface. To level the equipment properly, you have to raise or lower down the four bolts found within the legs by screwing them as necessary.
Locking the Airdyne Bike
A special lock device is used to avoid driving mechanism from making unnecessary rotations. Locking the Airdyne properly involves rotating the knob at a clockwise direction until its stop finally engages the fan wheel. This means that the Airdyne is fully locked and secured.
To unlock your bike, you must rotate your knob in a counterclockwise fashion until its stop is cleared totally of the fan wheel. To lessen any risk of any injury from accident, locking mechanism must be engaged always when the equipment is not used.
Important: if a clicking noise can be heard while you exercise, you must ensure that the locking knob is unscrewed and away from the fan wheel.
Maintenance
You must use a cloth moist enough to wipe your Airdyne Bike as well as its computer of dust and sweat.
Note: to prevent any damage on the finish of your biking equipment and computer, avoid using petroleum-type of solvent during cleaning procedures. It is a must to prevent excessive moisture from affecting the computer.
Please ensure you check your user manual before doing any maintenance or making any adjustments to the bike, and contact Schwinn if in any doubt at all.
