Getting The Most Out Of Your Lifespan S4

A Little Bit On Safety

  • OK, most of these points are common sense, but you might overlook one or two so here goes.
  • The flywheel can generate a lot of momentum, so keep hands and feet away from moving parts. Keep children off the bike at all times too, and children and pets away from it when in use.
  • Don’t use shoes with heels, leather soles, or cleats or spikes. Stick to rubber or high traction soles.
  • Oh, and read the owner’s manual before getting on. It’s natural to want to get going straight away with a new bike but it really pays to know that everything’s set up right first.
  • Keep away from areas of high humidity – over time, this may damage the bike.

Adjusting The Bike

  • Where to put it in the first place? It makes sense to choose a location where there’s something to look at, perhaps by a window or near the TV. If not there, any pleasant location is going to motivate you to continue better than a gloomy corner in the basement.
  • Make sure the bike is completely stable and doesn’t rock on the surface you’ve chosen. There are 4 adjustable feet that you can alter to get a stable lie.
  • Get you seat in the right position by first sitting on it and then putting the balls of your feet on to the pedals. When the pedal is at it’s furthest point from you, your knee should be slightly bent.
  • Make sure the pedal straps are nice and tight throughout the pedalling motion. You can swap in your own pedals if you prefer to use cleats.

We hope this quick summary helped, but please be sure to check the manual before you use the bike. You might also want to click here to read an in depth review of the Lifespan S4 including where to get the best buys.
